Amiya Beth | Birth Journey
This has been my one birth so far that I really thought I was going to miss. Syvan and Felipe live over 4 hours away from me, so the day she went into labor I was praying I could make it there in time. I drove the 4 hours to the hospital and made it with a few hours to spare before Amiya made her arrival earth side. Syvan had opted for an epidural and was resting while we waited for her labor to progress.
After a few hours, the nurse came in to check and decided that even though Syvan was comfortable, she was getting too comfortable and her labor was slowing down. So they lowered her epidural dose and that's when things started picking up. They had Syvan do some practice pushes and pretty soon she was ready to let little Amiya come into the world.
That's when their whole world changed, and Amiya Beth was welcomed earth side with so much love and joy that there wasn't one person in the room not smiling ear to ear when that little girl let out her first cry.
All I could think when I snapped this next photo was "It takes a village". So many hands, so many purposes, one little life.

After that everything just fell right into place.
Welcome to the world Amiya Beth Carvalhedo. It was an honor to witness you coming earthside. Congrats again to this beautiful family. Your happily ever after starts here.
